Made in France by the monks.

Traditional and old-fashioned production of olive oil by the monks of Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux Abbey.

A product cultivated, raised and worked in the south of France with great care by the monks.

As its name suggests, it is sweet because of olives selected for the quality of the varieties. 100% fruit juice, the oils of the Monastery are extracted in the old way, cold, without any chemical or thermal process.

The first service at Sainte Madeleine du Barroux Abbey:

3:30 am - Standing, turned towards the altar, we await the signal of Father Abbé (two short tapping on the armrest), and the weekly intones the verse Domine, labia mea aperies, “Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will announce your praise ”.

A brother then begins psalm 94 in the middle of the choir, called ‘invitatory’: Venite, exsultemus Domino, “Come, let us exult before the Lord, let us rejoice; let’s adore him, let’s bow down and cry in front of his face! ”Then, with the capuce folded over his head, twelve psalms with alternating chorus will parade recto tono, that is to say without inflection of voice, unlike the chanted chanting. These twelve psalms are interspersed with readings, the number of which varies according to the importance of the feast.

What happens then, if not an intimate conference, where the soul pours out before God in a feeling of supplication and love: “As the altered deer sighs after the sources of water…” (psalm 41 ). And God answered him: “I am your Lord, I pulled you out of Egypt; open your mouth and I will fill it ”(Psalm 80).
