Today, the Abbey of Sept-Fons has over 80 members, including many young people from all over the world. Faithful to the rule of St. Benedict, they strive to maintain a balance between prayer, study and work, especially manual work. While cereal cultivation is exclusively geared towards feeding their herd of dairy cows, the crops from their orchards, vegetable gardens and apiary barely cover the internal needs of the community. So the monks cannot be satisfied with agriculture for a living.
