From the abbey of Notre Dame de la Grâce (50)

Authentically excellent ...

It is made in the charcuterie workshop, in a traditional and artisanal way, giving pride of place to natural ingredients and to a recipe handed down from generation to generation.

Since 1960 the brothers of the abbey of Bricquebec have developed the breeding of pigs to survive. Going from a small herd of 10 sows to 50 and soon 200!

So Father Marc's breeding continues on its way!

Lexicon of religious life at the abbey of la trappe.

Matins: (also called Vigils) is an office celebrated at a still nocturnal hour according to monastic usage.

Lauds: (Les Lauds) Morning praise. This office is celebrated at the beginning of the day, when the light of Christ comes to dispel the darkness of the night.

Tierce, Sext and None: are called "Les Petites Heures"

Tierce: "We must always pray without ever getting tired" we Jesus in the Gospel. Christians, especially monks and nuns, like to pray at various times of the day, even in the workplace, following the early Church.
The office of third, so called because it is the office of the third hour, memory of the mystery of Pentecost and opens us to the gifts of the Spirit: charity, the strength of testimony, unity, peace and ask that our lives be animated by the Spirit of Love and Truth.
The third hour is also the hour when, according to tradition, Christ began to suffer the outrages of his Passion.

An office

Sext: The office of Sext, that is to say the sixth hour or noon, commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus who opens the way to the Beatitudes.
The writing tells us about other events that happened at the sixth hour: Peter's prayer on the terrace of a house in Joppa where he had the revelation of the Salvation extended to the pagans, the meeting of Jesus with the Samaritan woman, the vocation and conversion of Saint Paul before the gates of Damascus ...
The hour of Sext invites us to sanctify this moment of the day by turning our eyes to the Creator God and Providence who leads to Salvation all those He has called into existence.

None: The ninth hour is when Christ "bore his beautiful witness". Death is destroyed by the death of the Savior, and after the darkness that has been "over all the earth" from the sixth to the ninth hour, the light finally returns.
The miracle performed by Peter at the ninth hour near the Belle-Porte is a striking example of the power of faith in the name of Jesus.

Vespers: (Vespers) It is the prayer of the end of the day. The "evening sacrifice", during which we like to make the fragrance of incense rise to God, as a sign of an offering of a whole day of labor and prayer.

Compline: (Compline) The last office of the hours, by its name, expresses a completion, a fullness, recalling the completion of the Sacrifice of Christ on the Cross: "All is accomplished" Jn 19.30. After the final blessing of this office, every evening we sing the “Salve Regina” (Hail, Queen) to the Virgin Mary.
